Go to midi in PT, Midi Control, click the little box to send through your Digi001 or 002.
Go to MPC (i forgot the command for 2000) but get to the sync page and set the MPC to receive MMC on Midi In 2, now you can record in sync (when you press play on PT the MPC will play).
Just make sure you set the tempo in PT to the MPCs, its that little box next to the conductor.
With MMC you dont go to worry about frame rate or any of that stuff as long as your tempos are matched.

I don't know about slaving PT, but i had problems slaving the MP a while ago, here is the simple solution....
I have the Digi 001, and it looked like this.
Digi Midi Out- Mpc Midi In
On PT (at least on 5.3) go to Enable Beat Clock and Enable it....
On MPC, go to shift 9, and turn Midi In to Midi Beat Clock...
Go out of that screen.... Click the little clock on the transport bar, and taadow, when you hit record and play on your transport bar on PT, it'll trigger your MPC
