crack open the manuals. they should have hook up diagrams inside. page 3 of the MPC1000 manual explains what types of cables are required for the rear panel ports. page 93 gives exact details on the inputs and outputs. page 4 has a nice example of how you could connect a lot of ish up. the MAudio website should have a popup connectivity diagram for whatever device you purchased from them that you can go look at right now before you finish reading this post!!!!!

it's really simple: AUDIO and MIDI. IN and OUT. what one device gives out, another device takes in. look at the back of your hardware and match up the ports then draw your own diagram....

i had a financial breakthrough of 10,000 dollars from God and bought computer parts for a build, firepod, pad kontrol, edirol keyboard, mpc 1000, guru, cubase, 2 turntables and a new mixer and had to learn how to route synths and midi etc. really fast it sucks but once you learn how to do it you will really be able to have a lot of creative freedom, the best part i feel is working with other people to get ideas going its a lot easier to feel creative when there is a partnership going than on your own so try to get connected with other musicians and work on trying things out together it helps a lot

plug it in the same usb outlet that it was originally plugged into, and restart. if that doesnt work, then uninstall the drivers and reinstall. should do it.

thanks for the response. i tried that... but i guess since it controls programs outside of pro tools like reason and such, i should have known. i tried everything i can think of in the midi set-up window as well. i'm pulling my hair out. i'm in pt 7, why do you think there is no "m-audio" in the pull-down window for manufactures? arent digidesign and m-audio the new team?thanks

sorry, do you mean in the midi driver window of PTLE? i believe your problem is driver related.

okay, looks like that usb port is not working because i tried the mbox in that port and pro tools wont load because it cant find the hardware. you think thats going to be spendy?
thanks,

uh well no, at least not if it were my own computer. but im pretty good with windows boxes. but to tell you the truth, its like pulling hair trying to diagnose and recommend a course of action without being in front of your computer.

one thing you could do: do you know how to take a screenshot?
