IS IT POSSIBLE TO SAVE YOUR BEATS ON A FLOPPY DISK ON THE 2K

Ive seen ppl save a whole beat with the full samples and everything on one floppy disk i want to kno how to do this because when i try on ym 2k classic its neva enough space, but ppl do it some way.

help me out

If they do do it its because they arent using a bunch of samples or either they have chopped really really small. If you a big sample head i recommend u to get an External SCSI zip, harddrive, or cardreader fam. Floppy disk just dont save enough info.

Recently i've been saving 'skeleton' beats on floppy & if you utilise
your samples properly (ie some short and mono) you can make produce some seriously good ideas using 1.2 megs or what ever the correct size of the floppy.

But...

It's essential to have an external scsi drive in the studio i.e. zip/jaz/hd for a free unlimitied work flow.

do they sell those scsi external zip drives in stores because i dont have a credit card or paypal for online stuff

Prolly gonna be hard to find them. Its alot of trusted sites that sell external scsi devices that will allow you to use an money order.

scis 4 samplers . com type that in. Tutor is now blockin that site to so it changes the actual url to disney.com which is crazy but oh well u get the picture.

i've been able to save beats to a floppy.. i save it as all songs & sequences, and i save the program with the 16 chops.. it is possible. its just that, a WAV sample you will only be able to save around 13 seconds to the floppy disk

i do, since i chop my sample every bar...i assign them to the pads and assgin my kick,snare ad hi hats as well...then i go to save and "save all programs and sounds" click do it and a box will come up...make sure it says "with sounds" and underneath it it should say replace sounds of some shit like that, make sure it says "yes" next to that...do it this way so if you run outta space on one floppy it will ask you for another.....but when you load it up it the mpc will ask you for the other sounds on the other floppy...and they'll be on the pad you left 'em......

I got a external zip drive 100mb at Value village and I've found them at goodwill also. They are only like $5.00 :D . Matter of fact I 've found several of them aroung thrift stores 100mb and 250mb. Just make sure you look on the back of them for a scsi ID and a termination switch. Also you will might still have to visit scsi for samplers.com for the zip to mpc connection cable those are a little harder to find.Peace and good hunting.
