I recently had my xl crash in the middle of laying the track. Some background.... I had the machine on for like 2wks straight, and even before, sometimes when i would turn it off, and try to turn it back on, the screen would remain lit, but blank, and every light on the xl would remain lit. Now it's stuck like that. At one point, it asked to "Install MPC2000XL DISK!" I tried installing a new OS, but I can't @ this point. Any pointers?

Turn it off when your not usin it. Your gonna burn out the screen and it wont work right. You just gotta save and shut down every night.

I've definitely let it rest for a while, still no dice. I know from this point forward to NEVER leave it on for extended periods, but what can i do to get it up and running?

Man, this **** is bogus as ****. Not only did i lose what could have been my best work yet, now i can't build on my progress. As much i don't want to, i think i will try to get some pro help. When u say send it in, you mean to AKAI?..., or is it possible to get this fixed somewhere in my city. I definitely am NOT trying to be without the MP for some weeks. I think i will let it sit for a few days, but it's hard bcuz every time i walk past it, i wanna try it out. I think maybe i'll go back to my other drug...that sweet cheeba. But then, i'll wanna make a beat. Maybe i'll go back to FL for a minute. Regardless Smoove, thanks for your input. PEACE
