Through Every Month What Should I Have Already Accomplished?

Okay Ive had my Mpc since December 28th...So that means about 2 months. What do you think I should have all ready accomplished with having the MPC...And over time through the months of me working on the MPC regularly what should I try to accomplish? Where were you at during ur first month, second month...and so on.

Why do you even think this matters? Just do everything the way you like and in your own pace.

month 2: you should be able to string together simple 2 bar loops.
month 3: you should be able to get signed to a record label.
month 4: your house should be 20x the size of the one you were living in in month 1.

nah, but seriously, no two people will learn at the same pace, just do it how you do it, and don't pay attention to what other people say they can and can't do with their mpcs. do watch what they do though, and you may learn something interesting.

you should have learned:
how to sample
how to use the usb-connection to transfer samples, programs, related things
how to use the sequencer

and you should have made at least one beat, whether it's with the stock sounds, kits or sounds you've found from the net or samples sounds.

after you've made a couple of beats you should start to get you're own way of working the mpc. the way you like it. don't worry if it might be little harder than ther methods, because if you like it that way, it feels much better when you make beats.

for example: i don't record the kicks and snares on individual tracks, i record them on the same track. after the recording I go into seq-edit and put the snares on track 4 and the kicks on track 3.
it might seem harder, it really just takes max 30 seconds, but i like recording the kicks and snares at the same time, because i find it more natural for me this way.
