HELP LOADING A KIT

I just purchased some sounds as a drum kit for my mpc 1000, all the files are .snd and there is one .pgm and im having trouble loading it on the mpc as a kit.

i put the whole folder on the flash card then try and load it on the mpc .. it doesnt play any of the samples and the only thing it recognises is the .pgm, i try to load that and it says "WRONG FILE" can someone please tell me what im doing wrong? or how i actually load a kit onto the mpc

goddamn buddy, slow down, we actually have lives here... its not like some forums where you'll get a response in a few minutes...

anyways, the mpc1000 reads only wav not snd, so you'll need to convert them.

oh ok thanks.. thats strange they would send me snd files.. since i requested mpc1000

how do i convert them? is there a program that does so?

PGM is a program file. The 1000 reads and writes pgm files.

i know what a pgm file is... why would you post that..

ive figured out the problem now.. i didnt know 1000 dont recognise snd files..

all i need is something to convert snd to wav

I only know about the apps that I use but CDXtract and Soundforge will do this. I would guess that a lot of the other audio apps out there would also do this. Have you tried the place you got them from to make sure they did not send these in error?

yeah ive emailed them back asking whats the deal, it seems stupid to send me .snd files when i specified i want things on mpc1000 format..

ive opened these snd files in wave lab and just get static

Things you should be telling us also:

1. Who "they" are.

2. Wether "they" specified and confirmed the "sending" of MPC1000 compatible sample kits

3. How you recieved these, ie Net or Mail



Either you didnt specify clearly that you needed them for an MPC1000 (which i doubt) or you ordered them in the wrong format (which i doubt) or "they" werent paying attention or dont know what they are doing and sent you the wrong files.

The issue is with the supplier, you should not have to run around fixing their errors if you paid good money for these kits.
