Need Advice on getting sounds from my cpu (Reason) to mpc1k.

This is what I have... MPC 1k, Yamaha RS7000,Yamaha Mixer dont now the model but its a 12ch, Lexicon Alpha Audio Interface, Oxygen R49 Midi Cont Keyboard, Cubase SE, and Reason 3.0. I also have an OMNI I/o and MA Quattro, (neither are in use right now).

My current setup is...RS 7000 to the R49 to the MPC to the Interface all thru the mixer. I have no problem recording the midi data into the MPC, but when I open Reason and try to use that, it doesnt recognize my hardware...Ive checked and checked the cables and wiring, re-installed drivers and all and still the program wont recognize or recieve a signal, what am I doing wrong or how should I hook this up.

Why dont you connect the mpc midi in to the out of the midi controller. midi out of the mpc to the midi in of your interface. Select your channel on the the mpc and hit a key on your controller and your gonna see that red light on reason and the rest should come easy..........

first, check that the Interface is receiving MIDI from the MPC. how to do this depends on the interface's included (if any) software interface and your OS.

once you have confirmed the Interface is set up properly and receiving MIDI data you can check that Reason is seeing the interface and set up the channels and stuff the way you need them.

one more thing: just to clarify, the two MIDI outs on the MPC1000 are sending 32 different MIDI channels. don't be using the OUT-A back to your hardware modules and then think that same data necessarily gets sent out over OUT-B into the computer.... check out pg 46 about setting the MIDI soft-thru mode.

alright thanks for both of you guys help, i tried both ways and still nothing, im gonna read the book again and i just purchased that one e book on here, i still havent figured out the reason issue but that book is awesome, if anyone who needs help doesnt have that book i suggest getting it, i wish sparqs or someone will do another video, more with a step by step, just not a 5 min crash course

an also i have a meannnn delay on my reason 3.0 im jus using da track seq. n playin my drums thru my mpc its all sync'd up, well i hope its correct any1 kno y thise 2 things r doing wat its doing

probably so, and i do use the hard ass search feature on here to find most of my answers, but in the heat of the moment...when your brain is just racked...i find it easier to ask, someone replies and then you get a message saying someone replied
