I posted this question a while ago and saw that a number of heads checked out the thread...but nobody got back at me.

I am yet to encounter a problem that someone in our esteemed community is not able to solve...So I guess what I'm asking is, where's the MPC Geek Squad at!!!

Once again, this is what I'm trying to do:

Does anyone know how to hook up the M-Audio MIDI Sport Uno to the MPC 1K, so that I can 'Record on Input' in PT 7.0? Any and all insight is greatly appreciated.

Ideally, I'd like to record the tracks the same way I record them on the MPC (i.e. assign track #1- "hats", track #2 "kick", etc.).

(In the ProTools book, I think the authors refer to it as 'recording on an input-only monitor' or something, correct me if I'm wrong).

Most likely....no one responded because of the numerous threads here about using the MPC with software based DAWs....

midi audio interface?

you might be a little confused about whether u are trying to record midi notes or audio information?

if not, try wording the question a little more clearly

most definitely. midi only works properly with pre-1995 studio equipment. thereafter the note data is embedded in the audio stream, and no midi cable is required. most modern equipment does support midi, but it's through layers of software driver emulation, so the timing is off. i think if you put these facts together with the fact that hip hop started declining in quality after '95, and you have your main reason for the sh!t we have today.

Can the newbie give it a shot?

my first question would be how have you hooked it up if you have and what were the results?
