Yesterday I loaded a PGM with a lot of samples for a live set.
I also loaded a separate PGM filled with a rhythm set.
I control those rhythm samples with an external X0X sequencer.
In this way I can program beats live just like an 808.

All the other tracks on the mpc play sounds from the other PGM file.(non rhythm sounds).

I set my mpc to the rhythm track so that those samples can be triggered with the external sequencer.
But at this moment, I can't use the pads to mute/unmute the sounds from the other loaded pgm (filled with non rhythm samples).

So is there a way to use sounds from multiple PGM's at the same time?

In Main mode, the Pads trigger the sounds from the program selected on the screen. There's no way to have Pads triggering from multiple PGMs at once, I'm afraid. Even external MIDI KB or triggers don't change this. Could the Track Mute function help out here?

I think you can do it! Try this.....

Put every program on different midi channel. Match your external X0X sequencer with the midi channel for the program on the MPC. You need a multi channel external sequencer like the MPC. Most external gear are multichannel. I don't know about the XOX. It goes like this...

Program1(midi 1a) on MPC......to external X0X sequencer mid channel1
Program2(midi 2a) on MPC......to external X0X sequencer mid channel2
...and so on.

Try this and see if it works.
