Synching MPC2000XL to Adobe Audition 1.5

Hello I am new to the forum. Just googled up some searches and came across. Definitely a dope ass site. I have had my mpc2000XL for 7 years and should have been here from the start.

I am stumped in how to synch up my MPC2000XL to Adobe Audition 1.5. My soundcard is a Creative Audigy 2 ZS Platinum. It has a mini MIDI DIN In & Out with adapter cable that connect to standard MIDI DIN cables.

- I have In on the soundcard running to Out (A) on the MPC and Out on the soundcard running to In (1) on the MPC.


- Essentially what I really want to do is hit record in Adobe Audition 1.5 and have it trigger my song mode sequences on the mpc to play. That way I can seperate all sounds and multitrack the sequencing in audition with midi so it synched.

I know Audition supports MIDI Time Code and Smpte. I don't know if my MPC has smpte. When I hit shift 9 I find MIDI Clock and MIDI Time Code but no SMPTE. Is this type of synching possible with what I have without SMPTE?

I thorougly have read my MPC manual and the Adobe Audition help sites and am stumped. I was in the MIDI dump (not sure if thats even the right place to be) and when I would set up a sound and hit SEND it would just say waiting for MIDI Time Code but nothing happened.

Does anyone here use adobe audition with an mpc2000xl? If so any advice I can get it greatly appreciated!!!

use midi time code. have yr computer send midi time code, and have the mpc receive midi time code to whatever input you have the computer plugged into

Ok. I have everything hooked up right. In audition it gives me these options...

MIDI Trigger Enable
MIDI Panic Button
SMPTE Slave Enable
SMPTE Master Enable
SMPTE Start Offset
Sample Accurate Sync


I had been trying SMPTE Master Enable but with no SMPTE Chip in my mpc I am sure that has to be the wrong one. I check MIDI trigger enable but after that I really have no clue. I have my MIDI out in audition set to SB AUDIGY 2 ZS MIDI IOh and same for my MIDI in. When I hit play or record in audition or the mpc nothing happens. When I hit request in midisw nothing happens and when i hit send it will say sending for a few moments but nothing happens then it goes back to normal.

Damn this MIDI is some hard shit lol.

is the MPC setup to receive MTC?

I set it the IN to:

MIDI Time Code
30fps
MMC - ON
