Right cursor is done

jah...u work for akai or what? this is not user error. it aint like i bang out 10 beats a day either. Its obvious akai's quality control has dropped in recent years but i also understand out of the thousands of 2500s produced ur gunna get a few defective parts.

Besides for the metal plate on the bottom of the MPC 2500, I believed the MPC 2500 is built as good or better than the 2000XL. Its obvious that they use similar/same parts as far as the buttons/sliders. My MPC 2500 is fully functional and I had mine since it was released.

No I don't work for Akai. But if you understand out of the thousands of 2500s produced ur gunna get a few defective parts?? Then you have your answers...or accept that it could be possibly due to mashing on the buttons hard.

So, the only thing anyone can do is send it in for repair.

...it doesnt work like it used to. I have to press very hard to get it to move. Ive had my mpc for less than a year and honestly i'm sick of its bullsh*t. I copped it from vst and im past my 6 month warrenty. Should i open it up and try to clean it(i hope thats all it is) or should i take it down to VST next week? Any tips?

i just ordered 100 tact switches from a hong kong seller on ebay for 15 bucks or so, just to have. buttons that get used heavily go after a year/2 dependign on tact switch quality.

i suggest buying a bulk on ebay and learning how to solder so you can save yourself some serious loot

What are sthe specs on the tact switches?

2 mm tact switches unless i'm getting my metrics wrong

i got all of the above for 10 bucks (including shipping) on ebay from this dude in hong kong

as opposed to paying 7.50 for ONE + shipping from VST

just look up tact switches on ebay

tutorial -

step 1 - desolder old tact switch
step 2 - solder in new tact switch

yea, I spent the last 5 yrs workin on electronics. The soldering iron and multimeter were my best friends..
