run instrument cables out of your synth/audio interface to the ins of the mpc. if you are using the computer, you have to make sure that the out put is set correctly.

My audio output is going into the record in's on the mpc but that only allows you to sample it. I want to lay it down in real time just like building a drum sequence.

nah i think the guy in the video you saw was just laying down a midi track, and the synth sounds were coming live from reason out of the pc's audio interface, not from the mpc's outputs.

Yeah I think you're right. But on another note how are you guys laying down a synth part with your drums.....through a DAW? Thanks for the insight.

yeah, i mean if you've got a mixer, you can just run the audio out from your pc as another channel.

i play and record the midi data into the mpc, so if its a 16 bar melody, it will loop after the 16th bar, then i record it on an audio track and move it to a pad so i can trigger it rather that having it play continuously.

i use my daw to mpc

or external synth directly to mpc.
