Yo peeps,

I need your help, i'm a dance producer who needs to get the hi hats just starting before the normal hihat beat. So what im doing is palying it on the hihat beat but what i need to do is somehow shift what ive played (to the left) just before the hihat beat, If you know what i mean

When i try the swing function on this, the swing doesnt shift the notes before the actual beat the swing just seems to swing the notes of the beats i play on. So how is it possible just to shift them after played on the normal hihat beat.

Sorry if this is abit confusing...

Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

just create a new sequence with that pattern. hit play with the new hihat pattern and turn the wheel so it goes to the next sequence at the end of the current sequence. thats how i would handle it. otherwise the main pattern wont loop. you will always go back to the intro hats.

Yo,

Thanks for the reply it's nto quite what im after bro here's a picture of what i need...

Image

Red: Kick
Yellow: Hihat
Black: This is where i need the hihat to be placed its really hard to play it in so i wondered if there was a tool so that i could play it say where the yellow one is and then shift it to the left slightly to get that swing effect?

Help would be appreciated.

If you're using the JJ OS you can do it real easy. Look on this page for "Adding Shift Timing to the window “of Timing Correct " about halfway down.

highlight the row of hits by holding tap tempo and the cursor keys. with the overdub light on, press F6 (move). a new window pops up allowing you to set the new position of the selected material.

hope this helps.
