Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By KdubMpc Thu Feb 22, 2007 2:11 am
I recently purchased an MPC2000xl and already I can't sleep. Im so anxious about using it. I've been using FL Studio on my pc and didn't enjoy the experience too much. WIth the MPC I can be more involved in my craft.
Here is my question....I want to know if I can hook my PC up to my MPC and use FL Studio 5 as my Multitrack Recorder and Mixer? I need as much insight as possible so any information would be helpful. Thank You All In Advance.

All the insight you need is this whole site. Do a search, do a few searches. The truth is out there.

I've ran across alot of information and right now, too be honest...its alot to soak in. From my understanding so far, If I want to sample with a TT then I need a mixer if my TT doesn't have a preamp. I doubt if the one I have has a preamp, its just has the two audio connections on it(red and white). If I get a Multitrack Recorder then I would have all that I need to hook everything up and record.

you can record from the headphone out if you want to or if you have 8-out card you can do the recording through that (you just need hardware mixer or audio interface)...

i hope that answerred to your question ?

COnnect the output of the mpc to the in of your sound card.
Or if you wanna sample sound coming out of the pc , connect the output of your pc to the record in of the mpc.

I have a sound blaster Live Drive on my PC that has midi in and out. Would that prove useful with an MPC?

Yes, Midi, no audio. Read up on midi at tweakheadz.com

Mpc outs to mtr ins, easy. Look at the connections and see what cables you need to hook all that up. The exact cable types should be in the manuals of each gear.
