I love em. Sound mad nice and I like the mid range adjuster on the back so you can analyze the mids where ish gets all cluttered and muddy. Im thinking about coppin a woofer to add a little more bass to my room.

Not saying that it's my way or the highway, but im an engineer by trade. No JBL! EVER! Their driver construction is terrible! Call me crazy, but i forked out the dough for my set of Meyer HD-1's. Yea yea yea, so i couldve bought piece of crap car or a reasonable motorcycle for the amount i spent. They're worth every penny however. They're the AES standard for monitoring. Meyer sound provide's sound reinforcement for such venues as carnegie hall, australian opera house, mondavi center, etc. Aside from the HD-1's, Im diggin the Event studio preceision series. Damn good bass response for nearfield monitors! Which is nice when you're doing hip-hop.

The moral of the story is dont ever waste your money on JBL speakers. Save some cash and buy some quality. They're your monitors for crying out loud!

Yea I been readin up on monitors... I'm either goin for some Event TR5's or waiting longer and coppin the Event TR8's. Anybody have any insight on which is better... I mean I know the TR8's are better, but are they that much better that I should wait and shell out the extra dough... Get back at me

i listened to the tr5's the tr6's and the tr8's and then the mk1 mk2. the tr5's i think sounded the best out of the events. they played very tight. the tr6's seemed like they didnt have the sound quality that the tr5's had. i wasnt really feelin the tr8's either. then i listened tot he mk1 mk2 and they seemed like the right sound for me. nice deep warm sound they give you. but everybody has different opinions. i suggest u do the test like i did at ur local guitar center or sam ash.

I copped the tr8's about three weeks ago. I listened to the m1mkii's,the truth's,the br8's and the event's. The alesis joints were a little more bottom heavy than i wanted. I didn't like the range of the br8's; they just didn't seem as clear to me. I did like the truth's and had been looking at them for a while. I kept hearing about sheilding problems with them though. I like the sound of the tr8's. Do some research and choose the best monitor for you. Everyone has different tatse but I'm sure you'll find a set of monitors the suit you.
