Sampling from analog tapes

Does anyone know a cheap analog tape player that I could get to record tapes into my pc or mpc1000? I just need something small and cheap that plays tapes. I have some good ol' tapes that I would like to sample.

Hit up a pawn shop. I got a nice Kenwood cassette deck for $30 a while back. Hardly used. Almost pro quality.

If you can find it somewhere, try to find an older tapedeck model. They really have an amazing sound quelity and people sell them for cheap just because they are old. I own an old Marantz SD-1015. That's just my opinion, I really like the vintage sound

If you do get a tapedeck at a pawn shop, make sure to clean the tape heads. It'll only cost you a few bucks at Radio Shack for the materials.

a tv/stereo repair shop sells unclaimed units cheap, I got a tv once for 80 bucks and it was perfect picture on it...

Get a 3-head model if you can - that way you can use it as a "master effect". Put the sound in as normal, then take it straight back out the monitor sockets = instant "tape feel" with a short delay...
