Difference > Soundengine in 500 and 1000?

Hello everyone,
i havent got a MPC yet and i am not shure wether to get the 500 or 1000.
I have read many posts as well as the manual of both machines.
I understood that the processor differs but how about the soundengine?
Is there a difference too? It's hard to believe for me that if you would use
the same samples, settings etc. in both machines, the sound will sound exactly the same!!
Would be nice to read some opinions! (Any users who own and use both?)

im pretty sure the converters are different, when i had my 500 and i sampled into my 500, it seemed to "dirty" up the sound quite a bit and added a lot of air to my samples.. it played back the sounds from my 1000 nicely but when it came to sampling/re-sampling sounds from my 1000 it didnt sound the same...

for me soundwise

2000xl > 1000 > 500

i own both and i dont notice any difference at all . both sound nice and crispy to me.

when i had a 2000 classic , the converters on that colored the sound a little bit , cut of the higher frequicies a little and made it more dusty which was good for what i do .

for djobserv; do i get this right that the sound to you on the 500 sounds
less good when while sampling and resampling?

another little question
can i move events a few ticks to the front + back (left+right) to get some 'early' hihats and 'late' snares for example?

yes, you can , on the 500 it is called "shift timing".
