Filtering on the 2000 classic

I have recently been pulling some samples off of records where I have really wanted to filter out the drums as much as possible. I have heard of people say so many tricks and also listened to music where you can hardly hear the original drum beat in the background, and then the producers own drums come in over the samples. I was wondering if anyone could lend any help on ways to possibly filter out drums the best way possible on the 2000? Or maybe it is just the samples I am trying to use? Any help would be great! set your freq to 10 and see where it gets you. i used to be able to do it only with my mpc, but that along with my mixer makes it even better. inside the mpc ill filter no higher then 20 (lower depending on the sample) then on my mixer ill run that channel through a high cut and it will take out the rest of the higher freqs.

there's really no science to it though, man. if the mpc's filter isnt working for you, then check into some softsamplers or maybe even an akai S series sampler which all have some nice filters.
