mute groups/target

hi, im not sure if suddenly im doin it wrong or theres a programming error.

arent mute targets intended to have one pad cutting off another? like op/cl hihats?

ive got pads 1,2,3,4 all set to mute target pad16. but it aint working...

uh oh, mbe this is it, the sample on pad 16 is 'oneshot' not 'note on', oh and i fgot to check the 'track mute+window' setting since i booted in 4.42....
thats fixed it.

its funny, sometimes, settings are reset when the new os's come out.

oh, its not behaving as it should do, ive got the pads 1,2,3,4, all mute targeting pad 16. it only works if the pads arent set to a mute group as well as the targets....which i'd like to use mute targets AND groups.

is that a bug? any ideas?

do you have 'em reversed?

I mean don't you have to set the pad 16 mute target to 1,2,3,4 to do what you are trying to do?

i hear ya, but i want pad16 ( an acid riff) to be cut off by the pad1 or 2 or 3 or 4, not the other way round...

....additionally as pads1-4 are percussion sounds, they needed to be mute grouped to each other (like op/cl hihats), so i put 1&2 on group 1, then 3&4 on group 2 so the pairs would affect each other too....yet while i was expecting them to cut each other off, i was expecting them ALL to cut off pad16 - but as soon as the groups' set up, they no longer affect their mute targets.
