Hi

I used to have a Roland VP9000, and have just got a MPC1000 with JJ 4.42 installed. Is it possible to do the same tricks with timestretching, formanting etc on the MPC?? If not, what is not possible at the time being (and could this be adressed in later OS)?????

Varipitch directly affects tempo AND pitch. The MPC can speed up or slow down a sequence (when adjusting the BPM), but will NOT affect the pitch of the actual samples when doing so.

You can timestretch. But it's a completely different machine than a Roland so..... you're definately gonna want to get the owner's manual to learn this stuff.

stupid question in the wrong forum because you refuse to read what info is freely availble.

No formant-stuff as far as I know.

Timestretching, yes... pretty decent timestretching but it is not real-time.

The mpc is not as focussed on 'variphrase' stuff; that's why it doesn't have 'variphrase' in the name ;) . The focus is more on 'traditional' sampling with really extensive/detailed sequencing capability.
