alternative brand for 8 out board?

I searched....

but I cant find the post I was reading about another brand of 8 out card, I guess the only difference was that it had the s/pdif outs with 1/4 inch plugs? Which I dont understand, but it was supposedly cheaper, and I need thoughs outs!

actually i remember seeing a 8out expansion board that had AES/SPDIF XLR output instead of the regular SPDIF RCA

but it was awhile ago since i saw it so not sure if they are still kicking around. i remember seeing the only place offering it was some company in the uk that produced it.

I think a german company called Mutec makes an 8-out with AES. Don't know if it's any good though.

I wouldn't mess with Mutec, alot of cats on the board had problems with that unit, get only certified akai... your mp will thank you
