ok so I just got my MPC but I'm having a little trouble recording a sequence...WHen I start to record, it never plays back the way I put the beat down...iv changed the time settings from 1/8 to 1/8(3) to 1/16 and changed the swing% and adjusted the tempo and bars and everything and when i play it back it sounds nowhere near the performance I recorded....can somebody tell me wut im doing wrong?

I would leave the timing to 1/16 and make sure to pay attention to the metronome. Do one sound at a time and one track at a time. I had the same problem when I first got my MP. It just takes practice. Also how many bars are you trying to record this onto are you looping it?

ya im looping it because if i dont the bars just keep stacking up.....im only using two pads a really basic beat for practice and I just dont understand when I play it back because im not crossing over into the overdub and its only a two bar sequence.

I would set your BPM to about 100 for practice and follow the metronome, make sure that your mpc is set to play the metronome during record which is should if you just bought it.

or thats just the temp right?

By DJ Proez Thu Mar 01, 2007 12:13 am
Yes slow the tempo down to like 90 just to learn how to use your MPC. I actually record all of my beats from 90 to 100 anything higher than that is dance music. You can also hold down the Tap Tempo Note Repeat button while you press the sound you want and it will align it perfectly!

Hold down the shift key while spinning the data wheel!

You need to delete all of the sequences programs and samples individually then save the memory as a whole and it should delete it!
