Can the MPC2500 automatically assign sounds in a folder to a pad? I know it will automatically assign to the internal memory but not to the actual pad.

Also, how about a preview option for your drum kits. I have tons of drum kits and sometimes I would like to just preview the kit.

Would these features be useful to any of you fellow mpc users?

Just use bluebox. Highlight all your samples then drag em to the frist pad. This will auto assign the samples in chronological (or numeric if they're numbered) order.

You can already audition samples from your internal HD or memory card. What else do you want?

Yes, I know bluebox does this but it would be cool if the MPC did it too.

OK, what I mean is the entire program. Not just one sample at a time. It may take a while to audition 64 samples one at a time.

you do realize that in order to do that the entire program would have to be loaded anyway?

loading an entire folder would not be useful to me. i would never load an entire folder, i like to know where my samples are not just have the mpc put them where ever. plus, the only sounds that i would ever get from a folder would be drums, all other sounds that i use i sample into the machine as i'm making the beat.

but that's just me, other people might want to load an entire folder.

I would use this feature.

What this OS needs is a method of loading the allows you to select/deselect samples that you want to load. Then, select load to assign those samples to a given program. Forget about using a computer to do this. These new MPCs should be able to easily do this.
