Hi everybody,

I just bought a MPC 2500 and I was wondering if it is possible to put another cd drive in the MPC 2500, instead of the one sold by Akai? Would it be risky (for the MPC)? I've have check their web site, but there is nothing there that leads to an answer...

Thx

Don't know - try a search I'm sure this has been covered before.

I dont have one but I believe that it is laptop type drive, but whether they stick a "Akai shaped" connector on the back I dunno.

Anyone...?

I saw one on ebay. Thanks for the info. Btw when you say you had to mod the bracket is that because your mpc didnt have one or you actually had to mod the existing bracket?
Thanks again.

it doesnt come with bracket so you have to make your own--or just not use one--pin 47 in hd50 plug on back of drive has to be pushed into housing so it disappears--then it will be a slave drive--it is second to upper left of hd50 socket--w drive top up
