Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Normally, when i spit some rhymes .. i record with a Mickie spike, and a Rode nt1a mic in Cool edit ... now, my mackie is f*cket up .. so, the question is, can i Record vocals via the mpc500, to my PC ? .. i have Acid, Cool edit, Fl studio, and wavelab ... the mpc is not sync with anything .. is i can record with the mpc, what will you suggest i do ? ..

Yes, you can record vocals as a sample into the MPC500, then transfer the sample into the computer by USB or CF card.

You can record vocals while the MPC500 sequencer is playing, so that they are in time with your beats.

I cant record directly to my PC, so that i dont takes any memory on my mpc ? ..

you are recording the vocal as a sample, so it will eat up memory.

hmm.. put the mic into your "mic input" on the mpc
put the output of the mpc to the "line in" channel of your soundcard.. then go to the recordmode on your mpc (Monitor should be turned on!!)...
then set the "line in" channel as the record channel in Wavelab(or what ever)... AND FINALLY.. press the record button in Wavelab and start to record :)
(excuse my bad english :-P )

Edit: Of course you need a preamp for the Rode nt1a...
