Pharrell and chads setup wat u think ????

Sequencing : Korg 01/W
Drums : Ensoniq ASR-10
Soundmodules : Roland 1080 or 2080
Basslines and Voice filtering : MicroKorg

Do yall think this is good and if so why dont u have any of these and if u do can the mpc blow those sounds out

i have the asr 10 and love it just as much maybe even more than my mpc. but both of them together is all i need to make beats.

somewhere here there is a thread about the ASR-10. but don't confuse it with the ASR-X which is a completely different engine (and a toy).

the power of the ASR-10 is its effects, not really its sampler. pick up a DP/2 DP/4 DP/4+ or DP/pro and you can get the same soundquality and color using an MPC1k and outputs 3 and 4 thru a DP/whatever. the MPC sequencer is far superior to the ASR-10 sequencer. personally i prefer the soundquality of the EPS16+turbo to the ASR, and you can find those used cheap. but trust me, all you need is the ensoniq effects.....

ur crazy. the sampler on the asr 10 is IMO one of the best samplers out. and the best i ever **** with. it kills my mpc2kxl sampler. the effects are just an extra. the mpc sequencer is the reason i still have the mpc so u are right there.

oh, asr 10s go for like 500-800 on ebay. make sure u get one with scsi if u are goin to buy one.
