I can never generate a response to this issue since my last post. Why cant I sync the mp to play normally on beat with mmc. Do i need to be using mtc? really agrivating since I have to track out by cutting and fading ends. very time consuming

peace homies

There is a general issue with sync on the MPC2500.
In some instances it works perfectly, in others, not so much.
But, you can't sync with just MMC. MMC is just MIDI MACHINE CONTROL, which sends the parameters from you transport to your DAW(or vice versa).
You need to use either MTC(MIDI TIME CODE) or MIDI clock in addition to sync the MPC.
I run ProTools myself and to make it work this is what I do to track:

I set the MPC2500 as master, and choose MTC with a framrate of 30.
A also active MMC.
I then arm protools for recording, and tick the "wait for sync input" button(which is far left on your transport.
Then I press "Play start" on my MPC and Voila! you have working sync.
However, you need to allow for at least one bar of ticks to achieve proper sync.
This can easily be achieved by adding an extra sequnece to the start of your song.
If you're only tracking a loop, just let it run an extra bar and do a simple cut.
Hope this helps...
