i have two mpc 2000s!!!!!!

too bad one of em is busted but yo the broken one has a good screen but the good one has lines running through the screen. yall see where im going with this right? I wanna switch to the good screen, also change the case, pads and some buttons. any problems i should look out for changing the screen?? Have any of yall seen that website where they change the color of the bulb for your backlight???? maybe its something thats easy to do at home? anyone know?


p.s. anyone know anything about pads that glow in the dark or light up??? im curious about those

Lampdog had some on his mpc but he has gone to Iraq for 6 or 7 months you may have to pm him he may check his mail while hes gone and might streer you to where to cop them from........glow in the dark pads that is

lamp said his pads came with his special edition xl. anyone know if i can purchase those pads alone??? or possibly a company that sells various kinds of glow in the dark pads? (lamps are like orange, i want red, blue or green)

yea my MPC pads glow in the dark, but the MPC is orange! aint feeling that to much !

forat.com has the bigger softer pads, I dont know if the have glow in the dark....

bigger softer pads, huh? ill have to check it out. Also Im wondering if there might be a flexible paint (maybe glow in the dark) that i could just paint my buttons with? flexible so it doesnt crack when i slam the sh!t outta those 16. maybe dip em in a light rubber coating???

If you want to order parts, there's an akai number for that, and you can probably order the glow in the dark pads that came with the 2000xl SE, as far as dipping the pads in a rubber coating, there's this stuff they sell at hardware stores, to put that rubber coating on wrenches and pliers and such, it comes in a can or a jar but I forget what they call it... hit up home depot to see if they have it but I think it only comes in red...

that will make it so your pads won't fit back in the holes.

The glow in the dark pads were on the SE1 (yellow) and SE2 (orange). Special eddition means they only made so many (I blieve 1000 of each), so its highly unlikely they have the custom extra parts laying around. Can't hurt to try though I guess.

I painted my XL silver so the grey buttons look a little wack, but haven't seen anyone selling buttons other than forat, and they charge way too much for a sheet of rubber. I would think that most types of paint would crack on the rubber, so I never tried that. But that advice from Toecutter sparks some interest. I'd just be woried it might make them too wide and not fit back in the shell.

Glow in the dark pads? c'mon now..
I had glow in the dark paint that was pretty flexible a few years ago. Believe it or not, we made a two story high glow-in-the-dark-xmas-tree.

I can recommend painting them yourself without gloves on. You''ll also have glow in the dark doorhandles, beercans, stearingwheels and possibly a girl with glow in the dark breast pretty soon.
