trouble with mpc editor

i cant get anything from my cd rom drive to load onto my 2k classic. the rom drive is brand new. so i downloaded mpc editor and made some program files. then i burned them to a cd. put it in the rom drive and still the same thing. mpc not recognizing the disk. in the TYPE field it just has question marks. anybody know what this could mean? could this be a cheap cable problem?

did you get a drive that is approved for the mpc and use the directions to install it?

try using a floppy and see if that works. What drive do you have?
