Is OS update really a possibility?

Being a MPC newbie,

I'm wondering if all this OS update talk going on in this forum is actually a real possibility, or just a talk that will never happen for real.

I mean is there history with other MPCs that Akai released OS updates later? If there is, how often did it occur?

I really do hope OS updates and all these features some of you guys been mentioning coem true but I don't wanna keep my hopes up on something that won't probably happen so I'm just curious about it.

It will happen, just wait for it, maybe not with all the features we want but it will happen.

the akaipro has allways done it this way... all the way since the mpc 60..
they release the mpc's before the OS are 100% done and then akai just adds to the exsisting Operation system.

I think they problably do it in this way to examine what functions and features needs to be updated or what needs to be corrected...

Run 1.11. It fixes some polyphony stuff and works fine.

Why is everyone so worried about when a new OS will drop? My MPC works fine as is. There are things I'd like it to do but if it doesn't it won't stop me from using it. I doubt they'll update it much except for fixing bugs. If they do, great, if not who cares? I don't expect any hardware product I buy to have features added every month. I have some old gear that has never been updated from Roland, Yamaha, Akai, Ford and BMW that do everything they did when I first bought them. I should do what people do here and call BMW or get on a message board and complain that they haven't released any updates for my BMW.
Buy gear for what it does today not for what it might or might not do next year.

I still want a more sensitive pad threshold and global filter adjustment though.
I also want BMW to do a free upgrade to an 8 speed transmission (that doesn't exist) and add the GPS that comes on the new ones.
