2kxl and card reader update

Okay, I know a lot of you are tired of these questions, but here comes another. I have the xl with the floppy drive.

I ordered a card reader off a popular auction site. I copped an IDE cable and the power harness. I got my wires taped and the IDE connected. I updated the OS to 1.2. When I put my 2 gig SD card into the card reader, the light turns on, so I think it should be working.

I load up a file from the SCSI zip, and then I try to save it to the card reader. The screen says ATAPI, like it recognizes the drive ... but I get a message that says "Not Ready." Anybody got any ideas about what I am over looking. Thanks in advance and sorry about yet another card reader post. Peace, fam.

So, I may have figured it out. I was using a 2 gig SD card, and the reader I was using wasn't working ... even though the brochure said it would. I went and got a 1 gig compact flash card and this ish is workin! I don't know if it is because it is 1 gig or because it is a different card. But whatevs.


And, btw, it' so fast that I can't believe I am just now figuring it out. To anyone still **** with a zip or any SCSI ish, you NEED to cop one of these. It's not that hard. I'd compare it to putting a new stereo in a car. Mad thanks to everyone on this forum for opening my eyes (and ears) to the whole new realm. one.
