By rapperwany Sun Mar 04, 2007 12:26 am
Hey,

I'm looking into ebay for MPC500, and found this one that's selling it with extra EXM128 memory card and 1G cfcard. they're selling it for $699 and I was wondering if EXM128 card is something I would need or I can skip it? please someone educate me. thanks!

if u like layering your drums and layering many samples into a beat, then get it with the 128.

The 128 card increases your sample time from 2 min 16 sec(mono) to 24 min 28 sec(mono) this allows you to hold more samples in you mpc.

This should work. It's an awesome deal at $23.00 plus shipping. You can always get the 256MB which will do the same thing, they both will still read a maxium of 128MB. If you can find 128MB you'll probably save yourself some money.

I went this route. Because the guy gives like 20,000 samples when you buy your ram from him, granted when I purchased it the price was only 36.00 with the free samples, now it's like 50.00 It may still be worth it depending on how much cash you have....the free samples he gives with it are definitely worth it!!1

Also check this thread in the 1000 forums for more great input on ram choices and input on selecting ram. :D

occording to the thread:
http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=26775

if you buy the akai 128 meg memory you will get 128 megs.

if you buy another brand, kingston, etc you will need to get a 256 meg, as the mpc will only read half (1 side) of the stick.

im buying a 256 as soon as i can find one local, or online. looks like it will be around 30 or 40 bucks.
