Sustain pedal working with JJ OS?

Hi,

with V2.1 the sustain (damper) pedal is not working correctly. The midi messages are recorded OK but when I am playing a sound live, the sound will keep playing until its natural death after the pedal was released.

I wanted to ask if somebody maybe knows if this is any different with JJ OS?

I tried it out myself and of course the sustain pedal does not act any other with the JJ OS. Uninstalled it immediatly. I don't need pong in the unit. I need the basics to work.

I guess - since from what I read the JJ OS is about the maximum tweak - that it is just impossible to get the pedal operating correctly with the MPC 1000. I don't think using a sustain pedal is too esoteric, I though the unit would definitly support it.

I'd think you could get a sustain pedal to work through midi,
(ex. pedal -> midi keyboard -> mpc in).

I don't think mpc samples respond to sustain pedal messages,
but if you're controlling midi gear, the sustain should work fine as described above.

Yes, external gear reacts fine to the sustain pedal messages. It's just the internal samples that refuse to obey.

I loved to use the MPC because I have it sitting on an e-piano and it can provide sequencing and is a good beat box, too. I then started to use it for bass lines and soon enough had the desire to use it for some pad and keyboard sounds my e-piano would not provide. At that stage I find it heart-breaking that the MPC does not use the pedal (in live mode, it records fine if one uses the sustain to duration option) and I am stumped that I can not find anything about this fact anywhere on the web.

I guess the MPC just wasn't made for keyboard sounds and it is considered to be lame to have an MPC on an e-piano anyway. In the long run I will look out for an additional expander with some pads and keys but it's a shame because I switched to the keyboard/MPC combo because I did not want to use Cubase and a lot of wires and gears anymore.
