are there any turntables that let you sample from . . . .

mp3 cds or are you only able to sample from vinyls??

I'm quite certain that there has to be, although I don't know of any. I mean you could always hook up on of those CD players that plays Mp3's to your Mpc or even an little portable Mp3 player, you would just need the right connections then you could sample away.

yeah i was just wondering because i have an mpc 500 and i wanted to put samples in it but i dont have a turntable. would there be any packages that this website sells that have like samples already chopped up or would i be out of luck?? im tired of those sounds that are already in the 500. i need something new. lol.

Yeah, tutor has tons of sounds. As far as them being chopped up, they're one shot samples I believe, so you wouldn't have to do any chopping. They would be pretty much the same thing as the sounds that come with your mpc being that they are one shot samples.

later on you may want to invest in a turntable and start hitting up the thrift stores for records. I think I paid around $100 for my turntable. I bought one that is simply meant to play records no scratching or anything like that seeing that I am only sampling not DJing.

you can sample from almost anything. Those mp3 cds will work for now. You could get audacity or something and convert those mp3 to wav files and stick them on your cf card.

It would be worth trying to get all ya samples as wavs rather than MP3s where possible. This is especially important if you're gonna being playing live as the MP3s could sound a bit shonky over a big rig.

i have an mp3 player that has a half decent sound recorder that i carry everywhere, and in the future i plan to put that to use. i have already used some old funk samples i found on my mp3 just to try it on a long car trip and it totally works!
