Still using the Akai OS? Just curious.

I'm still using the AKAI. I probably WILL NOT make the switch.

Im still using 1.22 but good question..I just got used to the thing so honestly Im a little nervous to switch to something diff.
Is there good support for it(I guess so if you ask the questions here lol).
If its all that I may need to go ahead and cop it!

I was one of the biggest JJ haters(I still don't like em) because I saw the deception

But I forked over the $30 anyway to see what all the talk was about. It is a much improved OS as far as features. Some I use and others I don't. But unless Akai releases an official OS..eventually, you may also want to make the jump. That is, if you don't mind beta testing the OS like the rest of us JJ OS users

I'll just chill for now. The new features aren't enticing enough for me to and spend the money.

2. Global program editing
3. 8 Audio tracks
4. Improved MTC sync
5. Simult pads (trigger multiple pads from one pad)
6. Real-time pitch shift
7. Improved load/save menus


I found these functions nice additions and easily worth the $30. (Oh snap....I am actually supporting this OS )

The MTC and real time pitch shift seems cool.

Everything I need works fine with Akai's OS.

Jahrome ive noticed that in many of the threads concerning JJ's OS you were not the most supportive. I found it interesting that after sometime, even you have made the switch. I was like "Damn, Jahrome's on board"! I mean I felt like you made some very interesting opinions . I have to admit Im not one to conform for the sake of conformation, but maybe I should consider it. But one question though, you mentioned seeing the OS as "deceptive". Just wondering what you(r) meant/feelings were on that, if im reading you correctly. peace.

I agree with you (barznbeats). I love my MPC and its too big a risk for little old me, Im a broke student in massive debt before Ive even started Uni.
I think the the new OS's look really cool but they mainly seem to improve the MPC if you are using it as a stand alone system. If you use Cubase or Protools or something like I do then Im not sure If it is worth the risk. Having said that I would still like to get the balls to one day upgrade, and lets face it £30 is nothing these days.
Im still in the loving, sex goddess fase when you first get ur MPC and thats enough for me. (its still a sexy beast)
