Please Help me Ask JJ for this Extremely simple feature.

I love what jj has been doing just like everyone else, if they stopped developing for the 1000 right now my 30bucks will have been well spent and i'm grateful.

but

I really need to be able to Load a sample into a program from the point that I left off at, when loading in many many samples and building all manner of kitts from drum kits to other types its just the biggest bummer to have to start from the beginning of the list each time, it's painstakingly time consuming and such a work flow killer. if you can relate to what i'm saying then please join me in pettitioning jj over at the jj forum to implement this crucial workflow enhancement.

Yeah i see what you mean, a way i get round it is looking at the sample name and everything is in alphabetical order so i just go to where it was last, but yeah that function would be quite cool i agree!

yeah, this would definitely make building kits alot quicker!

I like this idea best, a "search" box or something where you could type in a partial string of characters would be nice.

But you could avoid a lot of this trouble by just using Bluebox or something couldn't you?

A better version of Bluebox would be primo

Yeah. They stopped upgrading Blue box. I always preferred doing it on my MPC.

that sounds good, but may get confusing if you have several gigs of samples of the same file-name in different folders (which i still end up having to rename in order to load, if i use a different sample with the same file-name).

for example: i have several folders of different kits. many of which have "snare1" or "kick1", etc.

Man, a few years ago, I renamed ALL of my samples. No more kick 1, kick 2, hi hat 1, I Made names for ALL of them. I have like 13 gigs of samples, too.. I know exactly where to find them I use names like Doo Doo kick, Nasty kick, etc.

that's a good idea prime i should do something similiar.

I hope jj does this, it's already like this on the 4000 and it makes a small world of a difference.

a workaround for starting from the beginning of the list everytime is already there: hold shift while turning the data-wheel.

or simply copy pad to another pad >> hyperspace travellin

wow for once a realistic feature request....i totally agree this would be a well appreciated feature. and I know there is some code in the mpc range that can allow this because the mpc2000xl has a sorting function to put your files in alphabetical order.

yep, like i said, the 4000 does it already.
