Whaa.. how does your CF card slot got broken? I'm really scared this is gonna happen to me too because it's always a little difficult to put my CF card in to the slot..

take your time when you put your cards into your card reader. they fit in a certain way and if you're too fast about it you can bend/break one of the pins in there. i've done that twice, and it's a pain in the ass to reach in there and tweeze the pin back to its original spot. still works, but i only use cf cards to update my os.

it'd be nice to replace the cf card with some sort of wireless doohickey

maybe jj - but then again maybe you! got any ideas about the feasibility of creating a wireless connection from CF card to computer?

well, i'd probably just get a usb-to-wireless usb converter when one appears. for a more difficult solution, a cf bluetooth/wi-fi card with custom driver coding by jj. :D

hah yeah. that'd be nice wouldn't it

i sincerely hope that one day there will be an mpc style sampler that allows simultaneous access to RAM/active samples from the PC while the sequencer is running

imagine it - you've got a drum pattern playing and you just want to EQ the kick so you bring it up in sound forge and destructively edit it to sound more like _____. hit save and SNAP it changes in the sequence just like that.

Is this true, I CANNOT bypass the CF card reader on my MPC1000. This is what I was told, by VST

You cannot bypass it with another CF card reader, if that's what you mean. You can get a 2.5" laptop hard drive and the HDM-10 kit, and install them into your mpc. that way, you can save and load from the hard drive, therefore, you won't necessarily need the cf card slot.
