Any software that will midi sync with the 1000???

I understand the 1000 doesn-t use Mtc.So what software has midi sync/clock instead of MTC?

Well I use Nuendo and Cakewalk Pro Audio and they both send out midi clock so I can't imagine the other major software packages not also supporting Midi Clock.

I've had lots of luck with Ableton's Live 3.0. I can pretty much completely control and run 90% of all of Live's features from the mpc1000. Their midi implementation gets an A+ for ease and configuration. It's not a full fledge midi sequencer though. However, I controlling the mutes, solos, recording, play, stop, effect on/off, sequencing placement and such are a breeze. You could probably exploit it even further with some more creativity. It's editing, effects, use of vst's and rewire features, mixed with the mpc's features, really bring my tracks to a whole new level.

If your into midi, you can use Reason and or get Plogue's Bidule, in sync with Live. I've been pretty damn amazed. I sync Arturia's Minimoog and other plugs and effects right into Live.

I'm not selling it, but the program's possibilities still amaze. I've completely stopped using Digital Performer 4.12, and have fallen prey to Live's ease of use. (whatever gets the job done and doesn't get in the way, is always my choice [hence my love for Akai's MPC series])

This is so true. Major programs can do it such as Cubase, Sonar even a cheap program called FruityLoops.

I use Recycle and dump everything into the MPC as a program. 20 loops can be 20 programs. Just load them all-up and work the mute button on and off on the MPC. Start with one loop on with everything else off. Then turn another one-on and work it from there.

The loop will always stay sync because Recycle export wave files and the matching midi file to make it loop when you push play on the MPC. This is great for gigs.

i have to agree with bigal.. here, Recycle makes fast chopping and then dumping into the mpc incredibly easily.

...and you can use the same programs in different songs, because when you change the tempo, you don't need any time stretch: everything stay in sync with any tempo because the midi trigger the slices.

Reason will MIDI sync with the MPC too

DP syncs great with my 1k. it even picks up anywhere in the bar. locks up in an instant too.

what is DP if I may ask?

Can you do this stuff with cool edit pro 2. I've been trying to do this and it ain't working at all for me.

hey Tiger Vomit....i'm using DP4 as well. describe what steps i take in syncing the mpc with it. right now my midi chain goes: mpc1000 >microkontrol (port 1) >computer. I've managed to get every other program to sync but have had problems with DP.

If your looking for a fully professional song creating program to sync with your MPC you should get Logic Audio or Cubase SX!
