MPC and Protools..NEED HELP PLEASE!!!

What is the best way to get my beats into protools for mastering? I do not want to have to record it all in as one WAV file. I would like to be able to have seperate tracks for snare, kick, hihat, bass, and the different samples im using so that I can EQ them and master them in Protools. I used to do this with computer programs by bouncing individual tracks as Wav files and importing them into protools. That was before my MPC.

What is the best way for me to get the results I want? I love this thing and don't want to be disappointed with this! I really hope that my only option isn't muting track all tracks and recording everything individually, because that would be a nightmare.

Do you have the 8 output expansion? Do you have a soundcard with 8 inputs?

If you want to record everything at once, then you need both these things.

I you have all the beats on one track then turn down the volume for every pad except for say the snare. If you have the drums on individual tracks then simply solo the specific track. Hook a cable to the Pro Tools and start dumping.. If you happen to have a good pre amp lying around (vintage or other) then lay off the tracks thru it for xtra niceness!

I have the 8 outputs on there, but only have the digi001 so I only have 2 inputs on the interface.

I really would hate to have to mute tracks and what not, because keeping everything in synch would be come a nightmare. I would have to keep fine tuning every track I record to match up the synching and timing of the original.

Is midi an option?

Um why dont u get DIGI 002 it has 8 inputs....u can plug ur 8 outz of the mpc into the inputs of digi 002...when u record it goes directly to ur pro tools...

Yes. But connect straight from the mpc to your midi interface and avoid using the Digi's midi cos it's a bit dodgy. Smpte is the ultimate but you need to have the card installed on your mpc. I've dumped hundreds of tracks over the years using midi and never had any real problems. Vocals, stereo recorded instruments and strings can cause phase problems when dumped from tape to tools but thats for another topic. Good luck!

The 001 has 18 inputs, 8 analog, 8 adat and 2 s/pdif. Check out these links for info on how to sync everything up.

Shabeats...if I could just buy any gear I wanted every time I couldn't figure something out, I'd be a much happier man. Unfortunately, I'm not making Kanye bank quite yet.
