Haha just had an idea..

How cool would it be if your splash screen could also be a screen saver. It's probably very unuseful and takes up loads of cpu. But still seems quite cool. What you think?

Peace!

Well as soon as you hit a button the splash goes off, no?

i mean the lighted element in the back of the lcd screen is only supposed to last a set number of hours. if your screensaver idea only puts the banner up and doesnt turn off the light then youre not saving your screen.

Na it could work like an ipod, the light on the lcd could last for like 5 - 10 seconds and then go off but the banner is still up untill you hit a button...

there is no separate control of the backlight, it's on when the mpc's on. it can be modded though, to have a switch on the back which turns the backlight on and off. if you wanted to void your warranty that is....

don't be so dramatic, lol. it's doable, if you have a technical mind.

If a splash screen can be done then a screen saver must be able to be done

sorry, we were talking about the backlight. a screen saver is perfectly possible, but, really, why would you want it? the screen won't wear out for ages. the only likely thing to go, as digit said, is the LED backlight, and that'll last >300,000 hours which is about 34 years if left on constantly.
