Anyone else like this on the main screen? in the track section.

it would allow you to easily 'pitch' things up. of course it would only work properly with midi tracks triggereing external synths/sound modules or auto chromed programs, but it would be cool nonetheless imho.

This would be great, make it a field like PC or something...

Yeah, I've often thought of this, it would be good for live performance, just like the old electribes and their transpose function

yeah this would frickin' rock.

i think i have been subconsciously missing this.
most of my synths have their own 'transpose', but that is way less convenient plus then the setting isn't saved w/ song.

good idea.

Good one, its hard work to do it manually, which i have done quite a few times...

Yeah that would be pretty useful. Its would speed up my workflow. Good one!!!

I suggest spending the money and buying yourself a decent midi controller, the main screen is too vital a screen to have clutter from a feature only a percentage of the users will use. Transpose is a big word milado.

what does a decent midi controller have to do with it; do you even know what we're talking about.

you have one valid point, which is that it always bears questioning whether to put something on the main screen.

It'd be ok if it was in the grid edit screen (maybe near to the drum/midi setting) as long as you could change it in realtime without stopping the sequence or having to hit record, imho.

Cosign on the transpose per track - it's available on nearly all dedicated sequencers I've used... Very nice to quickly experiment changing a track lead<-> bass or trying to roughly adjust the key... Pretty basic to implement really.

it could be good if the pitch/transpose worked on drum prgs as well as midi tracks by just transposing the pitch value of the samples. is that what u meant?

By sleepersriddle Fri Mar 09, 2007 8:12 pm
probably better to leave the pitch alone for drumsounds...
(i know sometimes people like to tune the drums to the song but for other drumsounds it could garble things and mess up the timing)

but if transpose was on a 'per track' basis, it could be cool to have the option of transposing drum tracks (with result being pitch goes up) and you could at least try it... hmm..

Drum Pad transpose would be fab - you could load up a pgm and scroll thu the sounds - you could make pgms of just kicks, just snares ect and transpose realtime thu them on a per track basis.

+1

:)
