Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

For some damn reason, my 2000xl crackles like a **** when I try sampling in stereo. Its fine when I sample mono (left or right). I tried EVERYTHING and it still happens. Ive tried so far:

Sampling from turntable (and I use a pre amp, and its grounded properly, so I know its not that)

Sampling from CD (with a set of stereo RCA to 1/4'' balanced XLR cables)

Running my turntabe (already preamped) and/or my CD player into a channel on my Mackie mixer and sampling the main outputs of the mixer (tried with both balanced and unbalanced cables)

Does anyone know what the hell could be wrong with it? Any advice would be great, thanks...

^^ I also tried sampling the Mix out of my JV2080 using balanced 1/4'' XLRs and also got crackling.

I would suspect that my MPC is messed up but I don't know why it samples fine in mono...

try unbalanced cables

At this point I'd say take it into a store and have them run something into it...then you'd be sure it was the mpc. Aside from that, check each connection and cable individually again to try to isolate the problem. What does the crackle sound like? Is it a digital noise type sound, or a fried cable sound...?

When I sampled in stereo, the sound would quickly and repeatedly jump from left to right, resultin in an awful, annoying popping and clicking sound. Also, some samples would sound like garbage (like they were distorted)every once and a while when I triggered them.

I took it in to a repair shop outside philly today(an hour and a half trip :( ), but dude said he wouldnt be able to even look at it until friday.

He's chargin a 30 dollar fee to diagnose it, then 50/hr for labor. The guy said it might be a problem with the MPCs A/D D/A coverters. I wonder how much dough thats gonna set me back. It sucks because when I got back from the repair shop my new SCSI zip drive that i been waitin for was sittin on my front porch :? .

your sampling in analog right? You set it to digital it will make that noise.
