Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I read the entire manual..so don't shoot me ..I'm comming from a roland fantom x and just bought my MPC 500 today..I searched the sight but it seems that no one had my question that I could find.

1. When I plug the mpc in to my computer ( Mac osx 10.3) through the USb the card doesn't show up on my desk top. How can I get that to show up ..or does it do that..

2. From what I read I need to get a PGM maker to transfer the .wav sound on to the card so the mpc will read it? What's the best one for mac?

thanks in advance

1. You need to put the MPC500 into USB Slave mode, by going to the MPC500 Load/Save Mode-USB screen.

2. You do not need a program maker to transfer .WAV sounds onto the CF Card/MPC500, you just copy them onto the CF card and then load them into the MPC500.

This website has MPC 187 for Mac,I recall reading another thread that said you where on a Mac. http://www.mybunnyhug.org/software/ For PC you can search the forums for the BlueBox Pgm maker which was made for the 1K yet is lovely with the 500.
