chops cancelling out???

please help if you know, i haven't even touched my mpc 1000 lately cuz i've been using reason a lot again, but decided to dust it off and start with a new beat, however i keep running into a problem. i chopped up my sample using the slicing grid, and play out the sample i have, but when i try to put drums or anything else to it the noise cancels out. please help. ps i've tried going into midi sequence and changing the settings but that didn't work. i also tried using poly mute group and mute target settings . if anybody happens to know please hit me up, thanks,

Mute will mute the target ^^
Set everything to Poly, esp. top right on Program -> F3 (Params), it sets it for the whole program

shoot man, i'm sorry thanks for your advice....but i do have everything to poly now and it's still doin it, the chops i play cancel out the break i have playing. i have the jj os and it's still doin it and i don't know what i'm doin wrong. thanks.
