I tried searching but i just don't know what to search for, i have a mpc 60 and im wondering how to make the sample stop playing once i let go of the pad? I know its a feature i just cant find the option for it! thanks your help is greatly appreciated!

It's a feature of the 3.10 OS.

I don't think it's possible with older OS.

Hit sounds, 2, hit the pad of the sample you want to set this to, goto poly and turn the data wheel until it says "note off". The pad is still velocity sensitive so you gotta hit it as hard as you wanna play it and then hold it until you want it to stop.

i practically never disable full level, only on hi-hats and snare rolls sometimes. but it's true you can't match the highest level no matter how hard you hit the pad. i prefer to use a 16 level velocity envelope instead.

i use POLY for drums, MONO for instruments/samples and sometimes NOTE OFF for shorter chops and stabs with a little decay on the end.

then you can set note cutoffs to kill up to two sounds when you hit that pad.
