common problems with the mpc1000

I'm about to look at an mpc1000 to buy from someone locally for $500...

they said its barely been used, so I figured 500 dollars is a really good price (if they're telling the truth)

what I want to know though is when I look at it, are there any common problems I should be aware of and look for specifically? I'm gonna insist thta I test it before I buy it, but I'm not sure what I should do to test it... (I've never used an mpc before)

Check how tha pads respond. Memory. Load samples. Sample.

To be honest, I'd just play the ma`**** like it was mine before i would buy it. Then I'd play it again.

Dont rush into it, so you wont regret buying that somthing that dont work the way it should.

I would have him do a demo of it

He should be able to
record a sample
assign the sample to each of the pads to show you that the pads work

that should be everything you need to test

as long as he hooks it up for u and lets u play with it , everything should be cool, just a few suggestion

make sure the screen is in good shape

make sure there is no trouble loading things off memory cards.

make sure pads work(u shouldnt have to use mad force to get pad response)

make sure buttons work and dont stick

make sure ur ready to get him back for selling u a fu(ked up mpc
