I just copped the MPC2500 brand new. I installed the ram, and am trying to find a good source for the cd drive and kit for the hard drive install.

I noticed somewhere on this forum there was a link for the cd drive on ebay for $50 so dollars. Can anyone find that, it's hard to search for anything "MPC2500" in here...? The other thing I was curious about was the HDM-10. Do I need that to install the hard drive in the 2500, or does it only work for the 1000. I know I need something, just wasn't sure what works for the 2500. There is no information anywhere on the upgrading of the 2500 in the manual or online...?

Oh, and hows the JJ OS for the 2500? I LOVE THIS MACHINE (no homo).

the HDM is already in the 2500 so you just need a laptop HD.

that model teac cd drive is discontinued so copping one is a pain in the azz (in the uk anyway).

the way the plug is oriented in the 2500, the HD would just stick straight out of the bottom. I think it needs something like the HDM10... I bought a laptop HD and it didn't look like it would work. There needs to be a support for it, and a way to make that white ide plug or whatever it is go at an angle to allow the HD to be internal... the plug area in my 2500 just points straight out of the opening (also where the ram goes).



Anyone have a good ebayer I can purchase upgrades at a good price, or a website?

I'm afraid you opened the cover on the bottom, that connector is only for the RAM. For the HD you have to open the front.

If you have the right HD it will fit in without another adapter. The installation procedure is at the end of the manual.

lol, someone didnt read the manual. just out of curiosity, did you think you could connect the HD to the ram slot?

Good looks, I'll peep the end of the manual. I never seen it when I looked. The bottom has a white plug area next to the RAM, so it looked like the HD might have plugged in there...
