rec feature i'd like to see

i reckon it'd be pretty cool to be able to assign pads to tracks specifically.

that way i could play a rhythm in on a number of pads and have each
part already assigned to individual tracks...

i know you can seperate them pretty quicky and easily, be a nice touch tho.

(this doesn't exist already does it? I'm still only on 3.x haven't had a
chance to upgrade yet. if so...apologies)

Totes agree. At least it's pretty simple pimple to split beats up with the grid edit.

sounds easier to split afterwards than to have to assign each pad before and have to change the assignment after to rec a second beat.

it also could get confusing when using different programs in the same sequence. (assuming that the assignment would be stored in programs, which seems the logical place for it.)

grid edit kinda is what you're looking for. i used to separate the tracks and then grid edit came along - now you never have to leave the 1 screen..
