is this the only way to increase ram? buying 128MB Expansion RAM for MPC1000. I know all of the basics of using the mpc 1000 but i can't compose a full beat. can you make a beat by just using the mpc alone?
I'm curious because i have cubase se and i was wondering can i hook it up to the cubase Se software and make a full beat like that. another problem that i have is when i make a sequence, i use different sounds from different programs and when you mix them all down to one sequence some sounds are different. any suggestions because i can't make a beat just using one program. and i know that in order to mixdown in song mode you have to use the same program for each sequence.

not quite right. you need to make sure that the tracks correspond between sequences. eg: for sequence 01, track 1 uses program 01, track 2 uses program 02 etc. you need to make sure for sequence 02, that track 1 also uses program 01, and track 2 also uses program 02.

hope this helps.

when you compose a beat what kind of samples do you use to create the main loop. like bass, strings, or do you make the drum pattern first and then use a software to make the hook part of the song.

i wouldn't worry about that yet, just play with the mpc till you're really comfortable on it. if you already are, don't listen to me. 8)
