I just picked up my first MPC a couple of months ago and the next catalogue I picked up showed them shipping the 2KXL in that purple color... I gotta say... Man am I glad I picked up the Beige/Grey colored one... I like the classic colors and think the new ones are too flashy and cartoonish looking...

Regardless, I'm gonna customize mine like d-struction is doin... My only question to any one that has done this before is... How would I deal with the issue of stickers for my buttons???

I mean after I paint my MPC the labeling for the keys will be all covered up... D-struction if your successful... Please let a brother know how you handled this situation.

well, my man. I'll probably paint the whole thing (maybe even dip it in chrome). i remember what most of the buttons do, but if i were to add the text for those buttons in, i would hand paint them with a fine tipped brush.

Someone made a kinko's template or something where you can get it printed up on some clear sticky shyt. It should be in the search,

I wouldn't chrome it dog, a guy had a chromed 808 and it was a pain because you see your reflection and lights blind you and shit. He was fiendin' for a stock face plate!

Having the the white/biege one shows everyone that you're not a new jack.

It's a matter of personal preference cause they'e the same exact thing... Like somebody on here said though... It makes you look like you ain't a newbie by coppin the old beige/Grey one... That way you could be fakin the funk...... :D

The whole newbie thing is wack though ... I know cats that have had equipment for a few months and can twerk the hell out of it, and others who are still learning the same equipment after having it for years :)

Maybe having the grey one makes you look like you didn't have the cheddar for the new one and bought one used... I got my original 2000 months before the XL came out, and I still got my guitar center receipt to prove it, not that it makes me better than a kid who got one used and saved 500 bucks...

That is true homie. that is true. I like to be different. I tried makin beats on my homeboys old white/beige xl and I COULDN'T PERFORM (for a lack of better words).
